Please check EagleOnline to see if we have the most up to date mailing address.

If you did not receive a HEERF II e-mail, you did not meet the eligibility criteria of being enrolled in a degree-seeking program, or have a 2020-2021 FAFSA on file.

If you have additional questions, please contact chris.bowser@statetechmo.edu.

February 8, 2021: State Tech Staying in Touch

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome back for Week 6 of the Spring 2021 semester! We hope everyone had a great weekend. Even though the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl, it was a great season. We have a lot going on campus this week including the Career Expo on Wednesday, February 10, 2021! Please see more detailed information ab out the Career Expo below. Please reach out if you have any questions about anything with classes or activities that are taking place this week. We hope everyone has an amazing week at State Tech.

Ready to Report – Landing Page

We receive many questions each week from students about how to notify someone at the college of an incident they witnessed or a concern they want to share. We want to make reporting your concerns as simple as possible. For your convenience, we have created a Ready to Report landing page where you can find a reporting form for any concerns you would like to report.

State Technical College of Missouri is committed to creating a safe, supportive learning and working environment for all members of the campus community. We take all reports of misconduct seriously to protect everyone’s health and well-being.

State Tech depends on community members to identify and report behaviors of concern so the College can provide students and employees in need with appropriate support services and resources. It takes all of us to create a welcoming campus environment. If you see something, say and do something about it-use the forms on the Ready to Report landing page to help us stay informed on any concerning behavior or students who may be in need of assistance.

The page contains graphics that explain what each form should be used to report. Each form correlates to a process we have at State Tech. We hope by moving to an electronic form, it will be easier for students to find and use.

For example, here is the graphic for the F.A.S.T. form. If you have a concern about a fellow student, you can click on the form, complete it, and when you submit, a person from our team will check in on the person of concern. We hope that you bookmark the Ready to Report landing page on your device so it is easy to access when you need it.

Figure 1 this is the FAST Form. Use it to share a concern about a student who may be struggling with academic, personal, or emotional difficulties or is exhibiting concerning behavior.

Please visit the Ready to Report landing page to see the other reporting forms we have for students.

Student Government Association Officer Applications

If so, complete the application at www.statetechmo.edu/sga-officer-application. Each officer position is a paid position. There is a stipend with each position.

Here is a quote from our current SGA President – Taylor Young, “My favorite part about being an SGA officer is being able to help students have their voice heard and being able to better our campus for not only our current students, but future ones as well.”

If you think you would like to run for SGA Officer election, click on the link above and apply today!!!

Early Alert Reports – Importance of Attendance

All faculty have the ability to share concerns about students through our Early Alert process. They keep us informed of things they see may keep students from success each semester. We have received many reports about students missing classes in the first five weeks. Attendance is crucial to your success in the classroom. If you have an illness or an emergency that prevents you from attending, please contact your instructors. When an Early Alert is submitted, our Counseling Staff will reach out to you via text, e-mail, and/or phone. We want to make sure everything is going ok and offer any solutions to issues you may be having outside the classroom. We want to make sure you are aware we can help. Attendance is essential to success, but if you have to miss class, please notify your instructors.

On Campus Housing Available

Are you dreading that drive to and from campus in the morning? We can help with that. State Tech Housing has several rooms available for the Spring 2021 semester. If you would like to explore getting a room on campus, please contact Zach Kucsik. Zach can provide all of the details and provide a tour if needed.

Parking Reminder

Parking

We get a lot of questions about where to park and want to break it down in a easy to understand way.

If you live on campus:

  • Please park in the lot closest to your cottage and you can walk to your other locations on campus. You will receive a parking sticker that needs to be displayed in your car when it is parked at your dorm.

If you live off campus:

  • You can park anywhere with white lines

  • You cannot park anywhere with yellow lines, these are for off campus visitors only. If you park there and do not have a guest parking pass for the day, you will be issued a ticket.
