The Digital Communications Technician Option of Networking Systems Technology curriculum prepares students to work in the cutting edge of digital communications. Telecommunications graduates are trained in extremely technical and highly specialized installation, maintenance, and repair of complex communication infrastructure.
Experienced instructors prepare graduates for the installation of voice and data services through a variety of delivery systems including network switches, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), satellite, and fiber optics.
Input from industry advisors shapes the curriculum to include the latest trends and technologies, including Digital Home Technology Integration and the Fiber Optic Association certified course. Students are required to pass at least one certification prior to graduation. Certifications offered at State Tech include fiber optics, cabling, digital home technology integration, and wireless technology.
