Heavy Equipment Operations Copy

Have you always wanted to operate a Bulldozer, Backhoe or Skid Steer? If so you're in luck!

The Heavy Equipment Operations program at State Tech prepares students to operate dozers, scrapers, wheel loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and skid steers. This hands-on, 11-month program gives graduates a competitive edge in both the construction and agricultural industries.

Starting in June, industry experienced instructors teach students to move, mold, and distribute soil on our 125-acre operation training site using a diverse line of up-to-date equipment. Best practices for working safely are a key component of the curriculum. Instruction to prepare students for First aid, CPR, and OSHA 10 Hour certifications is included in the program. Prior to graduation students are also prepared to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

Heavy Equipment Operations curriculum combined with paid internships provides students broad opportunities and great potential for career advancement. Heavy Equipment Operations program graduates have experienced high job demand over the past few years.
