State Technical College of Missouri in Linn (just 20 minutes east of Jefferson City), a fast paced, rapidly growing college has an immediate opening for a Controller. The right candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding environment. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance. The College’s accounting and administration teams are small which will guarantee a broad exposure to many aspects of the College’s operations. This position shares the responsibilities of providing leadership, and ensuring the integrity, stability and excellence of the College’s fiscal operations. This position is demanding and frequently requires working extra hours and weekends. Primary duties focus on financial reporting, accounting and compliance; including internal auditing, analysis and verification of financial reports and records and assisting staff with various issues. The candidate must have a strong practical background that includes an excellent fundamental accounting knowledge base with expertise in financial reporting, compliance and fixed asset management.
Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Business or a related field is required. Active CPA License; advanced financial statement preparation/comprehensive payroll experience; seven years of progressively responsible advance accounting experience including successful leadership and administrative experience; proven ability to develop, motivate, and supervise; experience developing effective procedures; commitment to customer service, team work, and collaborative problem solving; ability to make data-driven decisions; excellent computer, interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with experience. The range for this position is between $70,000-$85,000.
