State Tech receives ShowMe Award
The Missouri ACT State Organization presented State Technical College of Missouri with the 2010 ShowMe Award at the organization’s 2010 annual conference on March 11 in Columbia, Missouri.
The award was given to STC for outstanding use of ACT programs and services in support of student achievement and school improvement.
The award received by John Scheulen, STC Assessment Coordinator, was the first to be presented to a technical college.
Scheulen was honored to receive the award on behalf of college and all the faculty and staff involved with the assessment process. “By utilizing standardized testing and linkage reports, the college has shown that value added assessment is an important part of the institution’s effectiveness,” said Scheulen.
Scheulen stated the award recognizes STC for its commitment to student achievement and institutional improvements through the use of assessment results from ACT administered instruments.
ACT is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides a broad array of assessment, research, information, and program management solutions in the areas of education and workforce development.
With more than 25 programs, State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission. STC has campuses in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City. STC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
