State Tech accepting CPoD summer program applications
For the thirteenth year, State Technical College of Missouri is hosting the 2014 session of Computer Professions on Demand (CPoD) program scheduled for June 8-11.
CPoD is a collaborative effort of the Jefferson City Information Technology Coalition, the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce and State Tech.
CPoD provides 20 high school students the unique opportunity to explore career fields in computer technology. The camp allows the participant to gain hands-on experience and to visit mid-Missouri businesses and state agencies to learn more about the use of information technology systems.
Students selected for the program receive full scholarships to participate and stay on the State Tech campus for the duration of the program.
“CPoD has proven to be an outstanding experience for over 190 students who have participated,” said Kathy Scheulen, Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management. “In addition to learning about information technology, they have also gained leadership experience.”
CPoD applications are due April 1, 2014. If you know of a high school student interested in the CPoD program, please contact Stephanie Scheulen, Enrollment Management Associate for State Tech at 573.897.5282 or firstname.lastname@example.org or visit http://cpod.statetechmo.edu/.
Linn Sate Technical College is Missouri’s only state technical college. Hands-on technical courses balanced with a strong foundation in communication, problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking prepare graduates for profitable employment and a life of learning.
On July 1, 2014, State Technical College of Missouri’s name will change to the State Technical College of Missouri. This name change better reflects our statewide role in technical education.
