State Technical College of Missouri Named In Top 150 Community Colleges
State Technical College of Missouri was named as one of the top 150 community colleges eligible for the 2015 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
For the third time, State Tech has been recognized as part of this elite group because of their dedication to the academic and career success of each of their students.
This recognition not only shows State Tech’s commitment to giving students a technical education of the highest quality, but also their dedication to the industries with which they partner.
“We are honored to be a part of this exceptional group,” said Dr. Donald Claycomb, President of State Technical College of Missouri. “Our instructors play a vital role in the success of our students and our relationships with industry partners ensure we provide the best technical education possible.”
The award is given every two years and comes with a $1 million prize. It is the nation’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance among America’s community colleges and recognizes institutions for exceptional student outcomes in four areas: student learning, certificate and degree completion, employment and earnings, and high levels of access and success for minority and low-income students.
Linn Sate Technical College is Missouri’s only state technical college. Hands-on technical courses balanced with a strong foundation in communication, problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking prepare graduates for profitable employment and a life of learning.
On July 1, 2014, State Technical College of Missouri’s name will change to the State Technical College of Missouri. This name change better reflects our statewide role in technical education.
