State Technical College of Missouri Secures Welding Accreditation
State Technical College of Missouri has been accredited by the American Welding Society as an official testing facility.
This accreditation makes State Tech one of only four accredited testing facilities in Missouri. Both current and returning students benefit from this accreditation as it further enhances their skills and employability as welding technicians.
“We’re pleased to offer this strategic certification to our students and industry partners,” said State Tech’s Coordinator of Business and Industry Relations, Shelle Jacobs.
The certification further enhances State Tech’s ability to prepare graduates for profitable employment and encourages continuing education for their industry partners. When welders are certified, productivity is improved and job liability is reduced. Companies with certified welders increase their bidding leverage and their chances of securing contracts for future work.
State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only state technical college. Hands-on technical courses balanced with a strong foundation in communication, problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking prepare graduates for profitable employment and a life of learning.
On July 1, 2014, State Technical College of Missouri’s name will change to the State Technical College of Missouri. This name change better reflects our statewide role in technical education.
