State Tech Entrepreneurs selected for Pitch Competition
Joshua Bright and Zettie Pollard have been chosen to represent State Technical College of Missouri in the third annual #BOOM Bounce Pitch Competition in Columbia on April 12. Their business proposal, Farmland Connections, was one of only 18 selected from applications submitted from all across Mid-Missouri.
Bright of Paris, MO and Pollard from Linn are both enrolled in the Business Systems Specialist program, and will pitch Farmland Connections, an idea that connects landowners with potential users, at the entrepreneurial competition. Venture capitalists, bankers, and the business and academic community will all be on hand to hear and judge their idea.
Winning entries will receive as much as $5,000 to fund their proposals. And all participants gain access to and learn about the many resources available to entrepreneurs in Mid-Missouri. All presentations and judging will take place in Cornell Hall at the Trulaske College of Business located on the University of Missouri campus.
The #BOOM Bounce Pitch competition is part of the REDI Entrepreneurial Summit. This one-day summit connects entrepreneurial leaders across the country from a variety of industries. The purpose of the competition is to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in Mid-Missouri and promote the idea of creating an entrepreneurial community.
State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only state technical college. Hands-on technical courses balanced with a strong foundation in communication, problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking prepare graduates for profitable employment and a life of learning.
