Over 80 companies seeking new employees at State Tech's Job Fair
Over 80 companies are registered for State Technical College of Missouri’s annual job fair on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.
“There has only been one other time in the last 17 years that we’ve had this many companies on campus at one time,” said Glenda Whitney, Career Services Director.
The job fair starts shortly after 9:00 a.m. and continues until noon in the STC Activity Center. Employers from across the state of Missouri and the Midwest Region are coming to State Tech seeking highly skilled technicians. With over 80 companies participating in the job fair, the three basketball courts will be filled with employers and students seeking employment.
The annual job fair is an opportunity for employers, students and faculty at State Tech to join others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate national Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. This year’s theme is Career and Technical Education Works!
Over 1,200 students now attend State Tech for technical education. Since opening its doors in 1961, the college has graduated over 11,000 individuals to meet the state of Missouri's workforce demands for highly skilled technicians. State Tech stands alone as Missouri’s first and only public higher education institution with a statewide mission devoted solely to technical education at the Associate of Applied Science degree level.
With more than 35 academic programs, State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission to prepare students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
