State Tech hosts counselors, awards $750 in tuition waivers
On Friday, February 24, State Technical College of Missouri (STC) welcomed 26 counselors throughout the state of Missouri for the STC Counselor Forum. Those in attendance included A+ Coordinators, high school counselors and a career center counselor.
The goal of the forum was to provide counselors an opportunity to network and learn more about State Tech in an effort to help students with their college decisions.
In addition to a full campus tour, State Tech faculty and staff provided several presentations pertaining to initiatives unique to State Tech such as drug screening and the success of AJA@™STC. Other topics included the A+ Program, articulation agreements and career services.
During the forum, two tuition waivers valued at $750 were awarded for counselors and coordinators to award to the student of each recipient’s choice.
Tammy Christenberry, counselor at Smithton High School received a $250 tuition waiver. Stacey Leonard, counselor at Pattonville High School, won the $500 tuition waiver.
With more than 35 academic programs, State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission to prepare students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
