State Tech to observe Veterans Day
State Technical College of Missouri and the STC Veteran’s Club will host a Veterans Day Celebration on November 11 on the main campus in Linn, Missouri. Armed service veterans, their families and currently serving military members are invited to attend the event starting at noon in the rotunda of the Information Technology Center.
Each November 11, State Tech gathers to remember, thank and honor the men and women in the various branches of the United States Armed Forces who so nobly and selflessly serve our country.
This year’s celebration includes a keynote address from Sgt. Ralph Kalberloh. Kalberloh, 84, is commander of the Central Missouri Ex-POW Organization. Kalberloh joined the Air Force against his mother’s wishes in July of 1943 on his 18th birthday. He was a prisoner of war during World War II.
In addition to Kalberloh, the Linn VFW and Freeburg American Legion groups will be present at the ceremony.
With more than 35 programs, State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission. STC has campuses in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City. STC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
