Central Methodist University and State Tech to sign agreement
Central Methodist University (CMU) and State Technical College of Missouri (STC) will sign a formal agreement on Tuesday, November 15 that will ensure qualified STC students can continue their educational goals with a smooth transition.
The signing will take place at 10 a.m. in the Rotunda of the STC Information Technology Center, and the public is welcome to attend.
The agreement provides students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree at STC the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management or a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies-Entrepreneurship Emphasis from CMU on STC’s main campus in Linn, MO.
With this agreement, CMU and STC express a shared commitment to increasing opportunities for student access to and success in higher education. The agreement allows students to make a seamless transfer from the associate to the baccalaureate degree.
STC President Dr. Donald Claycomb stated that STC has done an outstanding job of preparing technicians and this partnership with CMU will allow the development of its graduates in the areas of management and/or entrepreneurship. “The partnership will also afford those in the greater Linn area an additional higher education option.”
“State Technical College of Missouri represents a significant benefit to the state of Missouri and our fellow citizens,” CMU President Dr. Marianne Inman said. “Central Methodist University is proud to be a partner with State Tech in this official way and to offer this additional baccalaureate degree opportunity to State Tech graduates.”
CMU classes are expected to begin in January. Classes will run for eight-week periods with classes being held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The courses will include Introduction to Logic, Macroeconomics and Introduction to Literature.
