Missouri legislators participate in State Tech’s ‘Traveling Showcase’

On February 21, State Technical College of Missouri hosted a special “Traveling Showcase” for Missouri legislators.   The event was an opportunity for lawmakers to tour the main campus in Linn, Missouri, to learn more about the unique role that State Tech plays in higher education in the state.

During the showcase, State Tech President, Dr. Donald Claycomb gave a tour of several highly specialized labs such as aviation maintenance, machine tool technology, automotive technology and heavy equipment technology.  In addition, legislators learned about the high job placement and some of the employers who have hired State Tech graduates.

“It was an honor to have members of the general assembly on campus to showcase Missouri’s State Technical College,” said Claycomb.

A dinner was provided to the legislators immediately following the tour.   During the dinner, Claycomb presented additional information relating to college demographics, student success and the economic impact of the college on the state of Missouri.
