State Tech accepting CPoD summer program applications
For the tenth year, State Technical College of Missouri is hosting the 2011 session of Computer Professions on Demand (CPoD) program scheduled for June 19-24.
CPoD, now in its thirteenth year, is a collaborative effort of the Jefferson City Information Technology Coalition, the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce and State Tech.
CPoD provides 25 local high school students the unique opportunity to explore career fields in computer technology. The week-long camp allows the participant to gain hands-on experience and to visit mid-Missouri businesses and state agencies to learn more about the use of information technology systems.
Students selected for the program receive full scholarships to participate and stay on the State Tech campus for a week.
“CPoD has proven to be an outstanding experience for the nearly 150 students who have participated,” said Kathy Scheulen, Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management. “In addition to learning about information technology they have also gained leadership experience.”
CPoD applications are due March 31, 2011. If you know of a local high school student interested in the CPoD program, please contact Stephanie Scheulen, Enrollment Management Associate for State Tech at 573.897.5282 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
With more than 35 programs, State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission. STC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning. STC has three locations in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City.
