State Tech hosts Junior Preview Day, awards $1,000 tuition waiver
State Technical College of Missouri hosted 230 high school students in addition to family members and high school advisors from across the state at Junior Preview Day on January 28. The day was dedicated to showcasing the high performance technical programs, facilities and resources available to students at State Tech.
Junior Preview Day provided a fast-paced tour of the main campus which included stops in the new Vehicle and Power Center, commercial turf and grounds management, telecommunications, and aviation maintenance.
Events concluded with a video about careers in physical therapy and a video created by STC Automation and Robotics Technology students demonstrating their capstone project.
“Visiting campus is an important step in the college search process,” commented Kathy Scheulen, Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management. “We were thrilled to provide this opportunity to prospective students.”
Door prizes were awarded to students including a $1,000 STC tuition waiver to Bradley Gann, of Cuba High School. After touring the campus, Gann expressed interest in the Heavy Equipment Operations program at State Tech.
With more than 35 programs, State Technical College of Missouri is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission. STC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning. STC has three locations in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City.
