State Tech receives donation from AGC Young Executives Club
The Foundation for State Technical College of Missouri is pleased to announce support from the Associated General Contractors of Missouri Young Executives Club in the amount of $2,500 for the Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) program.
The donation from the Young Executives Club Fund is being maximized by using the contribution to match funds for enhancement grant purchases. The college anticipates purchasing $10,000 in heavy equipment for the HEO program as a result of the contribution.
“We are honored that the Young Executives Club has selected State Tech,” said Kevin Spurgeon, chair of the HEO program. “The donation will make a significant impact to our program.”
The Young Executives Club Fund was established in 2009. Doug Smith, president of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri, stated this donation to the Foundation for State Tech is the first contribution to be awarded by the group.
According to Smith, the fund was started to give back to an industry or philanthropic effort which is related to the transportation and heavy construction industries. Members nominate causes they feel are in need of the funds or can best utilize the contributions and then members vote to determine the recipient of funds.
With more than 35 programs, State Technical College of Missouri(STC) is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission. STC has campuses in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City. STC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
