State Tech to offer EMT training
State Technical College of Missouri is currently offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic course. State Tech’s EMT-Basic course, accredited by the state of Missouri’s Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, prepares students for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam.
According to Shelle Jacobs, Business and Industry coordinator, the curriculum follows EMT basic national standards. “Students will experience multiple learning environments throughout the course including classroom lecture, practical skills demonstrations and clinical experiences,” commented Jacobs.
Course tuition includes application fees, textbook, workbook and approximately 17 weeks of classroom and hands-on instruction. “Students will also receive a computer software study guide and access to the college’s library facilities throughout the course,” said Jacobs.
