MoManufacturingWINs at Lewis and Clark Career Center

MoManufacturingWINs is a Federally Funded Trade Act Grant issued by the Department of labor. MoManufacturingWINs is a statewide training network that will create opportunities for Missourians to obtain the training they need to work in modern manufacturing shops. MoManufacturingWINs programs will enable participants to earn industry-recognized credentials that validate students' mastery of skills in specific areas of manufacturing.

State Technical College of Missouri will use MoManufacturingWINs grant funds to increase course offerings in our Machine Tool program at linn State Technical College and at Lewis and Clark Career Center in St. Charles, Missouri. This program of study will train participants on National Institute Metalworking Skills (NIMS) level 1 Certifications, the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and the National Career Readiness Certificate Plus (NCRC Plus). A participant is required to earn their NCRC and achieve a math score of 4 on the NCRC Math Exam before entering into a machining class. Participants will be eligible to test for their NCRC Plus throughout the program. These standards align with the American College Testing's (ACT) Machine Tooling industry standards.

State Technical College of Missouri's MoManufacturingWINs machining classess will offer four areas of certifications. These include:
  • Measurement, Materials, and Safety
  • Job Planning, Bench work and Layout
  • CNC Turning Operator
  • CNC Milling Operator

linn State Technical College plans to train over 221 participants over the life of the grant. Enrollment of grant participants is based on four target popUlations: Unemployed Adults, Underemployed Adults, low-skilled Adults, TAA affected Adults. Participants must be American citizens over the age of 18. Veterans Priority of Service applies to the MoManufacturingWINs programs of study at linn State Technical College.

Equivalence exams to obtain credit for prior learning are available to qualified participants.
