The Dental Assisting Technology (DAT) program is located at the Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Dental Assisting offers an exciting career that blends technical expertise and people-to-people contact. This dynamic healthcare profession is for individuals who enjoy patient contact and the security of employable skills. The demand for trained dental assistants continues to grow along with the need for dental services.
The DAT program equips you with the necessary skills and training to perform a variety of dental assisting responsibilities including instrument transfer, mixing restorative materials, taking impressions, providing oral health instruction and performing coronal polishes on patients. Dental assistants also take and evaluate dental x-rays and perform dental laboratory procedures.
Upon successful completion of the program you will be eligible to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Examination to earn the designation of Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).

Application Requirements For priority consideration in the Dental Assisting Technology program, all of the application requirements must be received by the Office of Admissions by February 15. Candidates may submit applications after February 15, but those applications will not be given preference. If the program is not filled, applications will continue to be accepted until the class is filled.
